The 36 were chosen from 111 Hungarians at auditions on February 18. The number who actually join the orchestra will be decided late in April, after auditions take place in all of the other EU member states.
Edit Székely, who heads the Hungarofest KultúrPont Office, which organised the auditions in Hungary, said 22 Hungarian had played with the orchestra during the past six years.
The Dutch flautist Rien de Reede, who was part of the EUYO audition panel, said he was very satisfied with the performances of the applications. He added that applicants? talents have raised the bar each year.
