Burgenland
Concerts celebrating the Haydn Year will take place regularly in the summer in Burgenland. Capella Istropolitana will perform every Saturday morning in the Haydn chamber of the Esterházy palace between July 4 and August 29, 2009. Il Giardino Armonico, conducted by Giovanni Antonini, will be performed on the evening of June 13. See Burgenland's programme online.
Lower Austria
The Rohrau Palace, in the town where Haydn was born, will host a series of concerts during Haydn Days on June 26-28. Concilium Musicum, from Vienna, will perform on period instruments for the opening concert. Another event in the series will feature readings from Haydn's memoirs and correspondence as well as music. Vienna
More than 45 concerts will honour Haydn in Vienna in the first part of the Haydn Year. Nikolas Harnoncourt will conduct L'isola disabitata at the Musikverein on June 6 and 7. Musiciens du Louvre - Grenoble, under the baton of Marc Minkowski, will perform Haydn's London Symphonies at the Konzerthaus on June 2, 3, 5 and 6. See the programme for the Haydn Year in Vienna
