Hungary Oscar Entry Competes With 64 Films

Chameleon
will compete against such films as Jacques Audiard's A Prophet, Michael Haneke's The White Ribbon and the Korean film Mother, which have made a big impact on this year's festival circuit.

The film, which stars Ervin Nagy, Gabriella Hámori, Sándor Csányi, János Kulka and Zsolt Trill, is about the relationship between a confidence man and one of his marks, a wealthy ballet dancer who wants to return to the stage after an injury. Chameleon won the audience award at the 2009 Hungarian Film Week.
 
The finalists in the Best Foreign Film category will be named on February 2. The Academy Awards ceremony will take place on March 7.
