Hungary Shows at Tunis Book Fair

Hungary, along with France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Austria and Belgium, will show books at the festival for the first time.

 
Among the Hungarian works translated into Arabic - by Saleh Thaier for the Al-Mada Publishing House in Damascus - are ones by Imre Kertész, Zsigmond Móricz and István Örkény. Works translated into France and published by Corvina will be presented with the help of Ibolya Virág, a Hungarian translator and book publisher who lives in France.
 
At an event for children, the Tunisian actress Imen Mahjoub will read a tale by Elek Benedek in Arabic. Adults can listen to the Tunisian poet and musician Hédi Guella recite poems and read excerpts from short stories.
