English

The stand is a cooperative effort between the Association of Hungarian Book Publishers and Distributors and the Collegium Hungaricum, Hungary?s cultural institute in Berlin.

Two of the German language books by Hungarian authors to be presented at the fair are László M. Rainer?s treatment of Imre Nagy, Hungary?s prime minister during the 1956 Revolution, who was later executed, and ?Berlin, Meine Liebe?, a collection of reflections on the German capital by writers including Péter Nádas, György Dalos, György Konrád, Imre Kertész and Péter Esterházy.

111 countries are participating at this year?s Frankfurt Book Fair, which is one of the world?s biggest publishing events. About 7,000 exhibitors are showing some 400,000 books, more than one-fourth of which are being published to coincide with the fair. The theme of this year?s festival is the digitalisation of books and the creation of online libraries. The event is expected to attract 300,000 visitors before it closes on Sunday.
