The exhibition presents 45 works painted by the Kossuth Prize-winning Kokas between 1967 and 2006. From June 16, the Műcsarnok will also display works by 20 of Kokas?s students.
"Kokas's exhibition suggests at the same time the desire for freedom as well as a metaphorical and imaginative way of displaying abstract thoughts and emotions, and even visions," Szilveszter E. Vizi, the head of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, said at the opening of the exhibition. The master?s creative powers remain unchanged, he added.
The Kokas exhibition is open on June 13?July 16. The exhibition of his students? works also runs until July 16.
