Pianists from Hungary, Japan, China, Serbia, Romania, Chile, Italy and Slovakia will perform classical pieces in three rounds, an organiser told MTI.
Pieces in the final round will performed with the Symphonic Orchestra of Szeged, pianist Ferenc Kerek said, who is also the dean of Szeged University's Music Faculty, the event host.
The Gala Concert will take place in Sannicolau Mare, Bartok's birthplace just on the Romanian side of the border near Szeged.
The competition is to mark Bartok's birthday on March 25.
