More than 800 youth will come to Budapest from 31 countries on four continents to explore their cultural roots. The eleven-day meeting aims to foster connections between participants.
Participants will sing the Hungarian national anthem together in Parliament on August 17. They will then tour the capital and visit buildings and monuments related to the composer Ferenc Erkel, who was born 200 years ago, and the statesman István Széchenyi.
A visit to Pécs, which is a 2010 European Capital of Culture, will be among the highlights of the programme. The youth will also make a trip to Prekmurje, a region in Slovenia that borders on Hungary.
