András Laár: A csodatevő duhajka meséi (The Tales of Pipe-Eater Pigmy)
Illustrated by the author
Jaffa Publ., Budapest, 2005
147 p. with 21 illustrations
A dreamer and muser who has been travelling a lot in the Real World now decides to visit Maybeland and its capital Everycity. There he meets Pipe-eater Pigmy the perfect vanisher, who is hiding from the outside world so that he can eat the pipes and tubes of the city. Pipe-eater Pigmy shows him around the country and tells him many exciting stories about Maybeland and its weird creatures. The objects of the Real World reappear: rolling bath tubs full of foamy water are used as vehicles, the buses have elephant and bear heads, and the trams look like huge worms. This makes this place familiar and completely strange at the same time. In the end the narrator discovers that he was travelling in his own fantasy.
A real Buddhist fairy tale. Through an inner journey you discover your own richness and colourful soul. Surreal and fantasy story-telling traditions. Both for adults and for children.
