Ferenc Kovács András: Vásárhelyi vásár (Fair at Tirgu-Mures, poems for little ones and grown-ups)
Illustrated by Ferenc Deák
Koinonia Publisher, Cluj-Napoca (Romania), 2005
60 p. , fully illustrated
This circularly composed volume has two focal points: one is Time, the other Space. It begins with Napsugár-csízió (The artful sunbeam), evoking the wandering sun, functioning as a prologue and, owing to the structure of the book, holds together the whole volume, the wheel of time begins to rotate with the quatrain entitled Boldogasszony hava (Feast of the Purification). From here we leaf through the phenomenal calendar up to the last poem entitled Karácsony hava (Christmas-tide).By the association of time and space, we also can visit Ferenc Kovács András` favourite places, predominantly in Transylvania. But one may also encounter the Tibeti gyermekdal (Tibetan nursery rhyme) and brilliant Japanese poems written in haiku form.
Ferenc Kovács András: Víg toportyán féreg (The Jolly Wolf, poems for little ones and grown-ups)
Illustrated by Ferenc Deák
Koinónia Publisher, Cluj-Napoca (Romania), 2005
52 p., fully illustrated
Ferenc Kovács András dedicates his new collection of poems to little ones and grown-ups alike. This way he keeps alive the tradition marked by Sándor Weöres in so far as the reading, singing, humming of the nursery rhyme is not limited to the youngest ones. The poems written for children have already become an important part of classical adult literature and poetic tradition. The ?little ones and grown-ups? featured in the subtitle will hopefully serve as an invitation to read together; in this ritual we can share our experiences and discoveries with one other.
Gábor Schein: Isten nevetett (God Laughed)
Illustrated by Kees de Kort
Koinónia Publisher, Cluj-Napoca (Romania), 2005
36 p. fully illustrated
Gábor Schein tells the story of Abraham to children. Abraham, known as the father of nations, listens to the divine word and sets out for the land of Canaan. His way is full of blessings, yet his life lacks the most important thing: the fulfilment of the greatest promise, the birth of a child, is delayed. One day Abraham is visited by three angels, and his doubts are dispelled.
Each page of the book is illustrated with the magnificent colour drawings of the Dutch artist Kees de Kort, well acquainted with the world of the Bible and well-known as an illustrator of many books for children.
