Albert Wass: Book of Timbers and Lakes, 156p., illustrated by János Kass (Tavak és erdők könyve)
The Book of Timbers and Lakes is a great collection of very old, archaic Transylvanian tales retold by the memorable prose writer, Albert Wass. The book was first published during the second world war, than in 1946 in Germany. These stories hold the mythologic sense of the classic fairy tales, where you meet the mythic figures beside angels and brownies and trolls.
Albert Wass: Myths, legends and tales, 160p., illustrated by József Mór, Béla Petry (Válogatott magyar mondák és népmesék)
The great collection shows the wide range of the myths, legends and tales of the hungarian people. You can also find in this excellent book the legends of the huns, the brave stories of king Attila. On the other side twelve fairy tale represent the folcloric tradition.
