Szabó said his latest film, The Door, would be shown at the academy on Wednesday. He added that he would hold a master class after the screening.
Szabó?s comedy Being Julia and the Oscar-winning Mephisto will be screened at the academy on Tuesday.
Being Julia will also be shown at arthouse cinema Dom na Kino on Thursday. The screening will be followed by a question and answer session.
Szabó will visit the Boyana Film Studio near Sofia during his time in Bulgaria.
