The Russian subtitles for the film ? by the Füst Milan Prize-winning translator Jurij Gusev ? were completed just before the screening and brought to Moscow by the graphic artists István Orosz, who drew the backgrounds for parts of the film. Orosz also represented the film?s crew at the festival.
András Baranyi, the director of the Hungarian Cultural Centre in Moscow, which organised the festival, said the screening of The Tragedy of Man was the centrepiece of the event which aimed to raise the profile of animated film from the Visegrad Four.
The festival of animated films runs from Thursday until Sunday.
The Tragedy of Man, a 160-minute feature that took almost 30 years to make, premiered in Hungary in December.
