Oláh will be joined by the Miskolc Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of László Kovács. The concert will take place at the Jövő Háza, formerly the Millennium Park cultural complex, near Moszkva tér.
Oláh originally wrote the piece alone for the Budapest Jazz Orchestra, but rewrote it to included a symphony orchestra at Kovács?s request. The composition shows Oláh?s commitment to contemporary music and reveals as well the influence of Bartók and Stravinsky.
The concerto will feature in the first part of the concert. In the second part, Oláh?s quintet will play jazz standards, folk songs and his own compositions accompanied by the Miskolc Symphony Orchestra.
The members of the quintet are Kálmán Oláh (piano), Kristóf Bacsó (saxophone), Mátyás Szandai (double bass), Elemér Balázs (drums), Péter Szalai (tabla, percussions). The guest vocalist will be Ági Szalóki
