The concert, which is part of the Hangvető Festival, will feature special guests Ági Szalóki, Klára Polnauer and Guszti Balogh, as well as the Szilvási Gipsy Folk Band
Kálmán Balogh and his Gypsy Cimbalom Band have created musical fusions from different genres and different geographical regions since 1995. The ensemble is not afraid to present Hungarian folk tunes with a Latin rhythm or perform Moldavian Hora performed as modern dance music. Balogh, who is deeply involved in classical, contemporary, jazz, Hungarian folk and Yiddish music, is a fitting lead man for a band that combines all of these.
The band, whose members are Péter Bede, Mihály György, Ferenc Kovács, Frankie Látó and Csaba Novács, have already released two albums this year: Aven Shavale and the concert recording Live in Germany. Earlier releases include David Murray and Kálmán Balogh (2005) and AromA (2003), featuring László Major, Sándor Budai and Sándor Kuti.
