Agora will be the home to about 60 civil organizations, art schools, dance troupes and theatre companies as well as to the Vaszary Collection.
Agora cost 2.2 billion forints to build, of which 1.2 billion came from European Union and state funds, said deputy mayor István Toth.
The 5,300-square-metre civic centre has 500 square metres of exhibition space and a 400-seat theatre. The building?s façade is covered with an insulated glass structure.
