Several events on the Pécs2010 programme will be linked to and promoted by Kaposvár. They include a week-long chamber music festival and exhibitions of work by the painters József Rippl-Rónai and János Vaszary.
"Kaposvár could be an island in the city of Pécs," said Pécs Mayor Zsolt Páva.
Kaposvár Mayor Károly Szita said the agreement to involve the city in the Pécs2010 programme confirmed an earlier one with the former mayor of Pécs Péter Tasnádi, who has since died.
