Vengerov has cancelled all of his concerts for the winter and spring season.

Kennedy will play Mozart and Beethoven violin concertos - as featured on his latest album - accompanied by the Danubia Orchestra of Óbuda.

In an interview with Australia's ABC Radio National recently, Kennedy said he earlier considered Mozart's works for violin to be "slightly coffee-table, elevator music fodder", but the decision to name his son Sark Yves Amadeus Kennedy offered a catalyst to discover the music's true beauty.

Special Discount for Single-Seat Tickets
The Budapest Spring Festival's organisers are offering a special 5pc discount for single-seat tickets this year. In addition to the discount, purchasers of single-seat tickets can enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne during the intermission.

"You know, if you can't enjoy a composer which so many people around the world have got a lot of beauty out of, then there's got to be something wrong," Kennedy told ABC Radio.

Tickets for the Vengerov concert must be exchanged for ones to the Kennedy concert by March 1 at the Budapest Festival Center customer service office (1052 Budapest, Szervita tér 5., phone: +36 1 486-3311, weekdays 10 am-6 pm, Saturdays 10 am-2 pm) or at the ticket office of the Music Academy.
