Hungarian Cultural Center director Jakab László Orsós welcomed the initiative by the city of Eger.
The exhibition also enjoys the support of Kepes's American daughter Julie Kepes Stone, the Kepes family and the US ambassador to Hungary April Foley.
The exhibition is a preliminary event for next year's Hungarian Cultural Year in New York and Washington D.C.
