Kodaly Centre inaugurated in Pecs

(MTI) - The facility was inaugurated by President Pal Schmitt, State Secretary of Culture Geza Szocs and local mayor Zsolt Pava on the 128th birth anniversary of eminent Hungarian composer and music teacher Zoltan Kodaly (1882-1967).
    
The multifunctional conference and concert centre, having a total area of 11,000 square metres, was constructed with an investment of 6 billion forints (EUR 22m). The concert hall has a capacity of 999. Its acoustic features were praised by eminent Russian violin virtuoso Maxim Vengerov, who gave the first public concert in it last week.
