The play is a based on the true story of the drawn out trial of four teenage boys accused of raping a 14-year-old girl.

"The play is an unvarnished analysis of prior events, contexts, causes and effects. The author tries to represent the affair from different aspects of all the participants," The Trafo says on its website. "It doesn't give any answer but egg us on to think more about the nature of respect and understanding."

Director Vince Zrinyi-Gál said the piece was "also about contemporary Hungarian realities, the violence that exists today and the responsibilities of our generation."

KoMa Company member Krisztián Kovács said Games in the Backyard "is not only about violence but also about manipulation, about how we can get into situations that we did not expect."
