Contact Improvisation (CI) is a form of dance improvisation that uses points of physical contact as the starting point for exploration through movement. It was developed by Steve Paxton and first seen on stage in 1972.
Kontakt Budapest has organised a CI festival every year since 2002. Open to anybody with an interest in CI, the event features intensive courses, open classes, jams, theory forums, video screenings and talks. Already, the organisation has plans to organise a second CI event, on November 9, with the cooperation of the Trafó and Műhely Alapítvány.
