Originally built in 1882 and modernised in 1911, the Divatcsarnok was Budapest's first modern department store as well as an important Art Nouveau landmark in the city, boasting an impressive interior that lures tourists as well as shoppers.
The building is being renovated and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2008, the paper said.
