Lily Allen, Miss Platnum Added to Sziget Lineup

Allen, was born in Hammersmith, west London, in 1985, the daughter of actor and musician Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen. The late Clash singer and guitarist Joe Strummer was a friend of the family.

 
Encouraged by a teacher in elementary school who heard her singing an Oasis song, Allen started taking voice lessons. She released her debut album, Alright, Still, in 2006.
 
Allen, who is fully booked this summer, playing Glastonbury, Roskilde and T In The Park, is sure to bring material from her latest album, It's Not Me, It's You, to the Sziget.
 
Miss Platnum, a.k.a. Ruth Maria Renner, was born in Timisoara, Romania, in 1980. At the age off eight, she and her family fled the communist dictatorship in Romania and left for Germany. In Berlin, she was introduced to the underground scene by the American singer Jocelyn B. Smyth. Her solo debut Rock me was released in 2005 on Berliner indie label Sonar Kollektiv. The follow-up, Chefa, included her German and Romanian chart-success Give Me The Food.
