The Last Modernist: The Complete Works of Béla Tarr precedes the premiere of The Turin Horse, Tarr?s latest feature? a film, he has said, is his last ? at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Centre on February 10.
The Turin Horse, Tarr?s dark vision of the end in a microcosm of bleak tedium, won the Jury Grand Prix Silver Bear and the Competition FIPRESCI Prize at last year?s Berlin Film Festival. It was Hungary?s submission for Best Foreign Language Film at this year?s Oscars.
