Liszt Float Takes Top Prize at Flower Carnival

The float, which shows Liszt sitting at a white piano, was designed by Sándor Pikó and sponsored by the Hajdúság Waste Management Company, said spokeswoman for festival organiser Főnix Nonprofit Beáta Csikós.
 
The runner-up was a float showing Misi Nyilas, the hero of a popular Hungarian children?s novel, made by Sodexo Hungary.
 
The city of Cegléd?s depiction of the Lajos Kossuth and Civis Seed?s ?Princess and the Pea? shared the third prize.
 
The jury gave special acknowledgement to a float made by Bihor County, Harghita County and Hajdú-Bihar County, as well as to a float made by TEVA Pharmaceutical.
 
Millions of flowers covered the thirteen floats at this year?s Flower Carnival, the 42nd the city of Debrecen has hosted.
