The ?memorial road?, to be inaugurated in Kosice on July 22, takes one from Márai?s birthplace in Kosice to the author?s studio at the Thália Theatre, to the former Megay confectionary, where he met the woman who would later become his wife, and to the Márai Memorial House. It also leads to Márai?s favourite places in Budapest, such as the Central Café, Margaret Island and the Rudas spa.
10,000 copies of the map of the Márai memorial road will be available in Kosice. Another 5,000 will be stocked at the Petőfi Literature Museum in Budapest.
The project was supported with more than 126,500 euros from the European Regional Development Fund.
