Márta Mészáros to Head Film Week Jury

Festival organiser Jenő Hartyándi, cinematographer-director Elemér Ragályi, writer-director Ferenc Tolvaly and cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond will join Mészáros on the jury.

 
The jury for short films will be headed by director-cinematographer György Pálos. Its members will be director-cinematographer Gábor Balog and director-cinematographer Sándor Cs. Nagy.
 
The jury for documentaries will be led by András Salamon. The jury will comprise director László Babiczky and television journalist and documentary director Réka Pigniczky.
 
The jury for science and information films will be headed by cinematographer Tamás Andor and its members will include Uránia Cinema managing director Edit Bakos and director-cinematographer Marcell Zsolt Tóth.
 
The jury for television films will be headed by film aesthete Gábor Gelencsér. Its members will be cinematographer Balázs Bélafalvy and director Judit Felvidéki.
 
The 40th Hungarian Film Week will kick off at the Budapest Congress Centre on the evening of Thursday, January 29. Lifetime Achievement awards and the Master of Hungarian Moving Pictures award will be presented at the gala event. This year's Lifetime Achievement awards will go to director Béla Bacsó, set designer Tivadar Bertalan, costume designer Fanni Kemenes, actor István Szilágyi and director Sándor G. Szőnyi. The Master of Hungarian Moving Pictures award will go to director Judit Elek.
 
This year's festival will show 30 short films, 32 documentaries, 12 science and information films and 11 television films in competition between January 27 and February 3.
