English

Kovács said the name change was part of the ministry?s plans to give the centre a more unified look and develop it further. The ministry has big plans for the centre, starting in mid-2007 and finishing in 2009. They include the construction of an underground garage, a hotel and conference centre, as well as additional buildings to be used for entertainment and cultural activities. The developments will be paid for with both public and private funding.

Four possible plans for the centre can be seen on the Internet at http://en.ihm.gov.hu/ and www.jovohaza.hu, and they will be on display at the House of the Future from March.

The centre's two permanent interactive exhibits, which centre on technology and inventions, have attracted more than 90,000 visitors since mid-December 2005.
