Ministry Signs Agreement with British Council

The ministry and the British Council will cooperate to promote reading at the British Council's info points, support foreign language programmes, find corporate sponsors and facilitate professional exchanges, the ministry said.

 
The letter of intent also mentions support for cultural education and research, an international development programme for teachers, promotion for literary translations and cooperation between book publishers.
 
On Monday evening, Bogyay will present the Pro Cultura Hungarica award to Lilly Sigall, who has supported Hungarian singers for many years, Ágnes Kőry, chair of the Béla Bartók music centre in London, and Eric Abraham, the Oscar-winning producer of the film and stage adaptation of Sándor Márai's novel Embers.
