The guest composer at this year's festival will be the Georgian-born Giya Kancheli, "whose works gained their inspiration from sources in diverse regions, constantly confronting their audience with the importance of cultural and spiritual reconnection (homecoming) and the fragmented nature of perceptible heritage," according to festival director Mátyás Varga.
The works of Johann Sebastian Bach will also be highlighted on the musical programme of the festival.
Among the musicians to perform are Gidon Kremer, Miklós Perényi and Dezső Ránki.
The festival's theatre programme will feature two contemporary dance works by the French artist Christian Rizzo, who has worked as a rock musician and a fashion designer.
Kyrgyz short films will be at the centre of the film programme. Works by Aktan Abdykalykov and Ernest Abdyshaparov show the post-communist loss of culture and the legacy of recovered values.
An exhibition of distressed steel plates by János Megyik will take place in the medieval cloister of the monastery. The works show a condensed dialogue between painting, sculpture, design and architecture.
