Schmidt said the exhibition "spoke the language of young people" and that she was proud to see student groups from all over the country visiting. Parents and teachers hope that by looking at the photos, young people will better understand dictatorships and learn to appreciate the freedom for which the older generation had sacrificed a lot, Schmidt said.
A two-day international conference discussing events of the 1968 Prague spring began in Budapest's House of Terror Museum two weeks ago accompanied by the photo exhibition "Crushed Spring".
