MTI President Matyas Vince, the series' editor-in-chief, said that the purpose of the current album would be to present a comprehensive selection of the best Hungarian press photographs shot between 1968-1979.
The volume, covering a longer period of time than any of its predecessors, contains altogether 286 images, including 283 from MTI's archives.
The book, complete with English and German summaries and photo captions, follows similar albums of 1945-1947, 1938-1945, 1956, 1948-55, 1957-67 and 1989-94.
The last album, planned to be published this year, will span the decade from 1980 to 1989. Once it is out, MTI will fulfil its goal of presenting more than five historic decades of Hungary's recent past - the period 1938-1994 - by way of the era's very best press images.
