The project will allow the museum to show objects as never before to the public, said museum director Imre Takács said. He added that the work would not disturb the museum?s ongoing programme of exhibitions.
These include a show of 130 objects made over five centuries from the Esterházy collection, amassed in the 17th century. The objects have been hosed at Forchtenstein castle in Austria and in the Museum of Applied Arts? stores until now. The exhibition opens on December 12.
On November 23, the museum will open a show of contemporary architectural and interior design by Lajos Kozma.
