Museum Shows Transportation in Art

The exhibition features 31 works on loan from the painter and art collector Péter A Bak. Bak has collected renderings of forms of transportation in art for 35 years. His collection includes works by a number of Hungarian artists, many of them winners of the Kossuth and Munkácsy Prizes, Hungary's highest honours for artists. The entire collection is being put on public display for the first time.

 
Some of the works included in the exhibition are Tibor Pólya's Skaters on Zagyva, János P Bak's The Tabán of Szolnok and Adolf Weintrager's watercolour Winter Port. The various modes of transportation presented in the collection include a horse, carts, boats and cars.
 
The exhibition runs until May 6.
 
Péter A Bak was trained by his father János P Bak, Ignás Kokas and Ernő Fischer. He is a member of the National Association of Creative Artists, a founding member of the Independent Forum of Art Societies and founding chairman of the ART16 Group and the Artist Society of Zugló.
