The grant will support a detailed study of the architecture and local history of the region from 1900 through the 1960s, said ethnographer Zsuzsa Kovács.

Architects and ethnographers will work on the project over two weeks in the summer, cataloguing buildings, making records of local traditions and interviewing families.

The results of the research will be published in book form and presented at a conference.
