The festival is organised by distributor Budapest Film and the Spanish Embassy in Budapest.

Pilar, a mother of three in her 40s, is put in a difficult situation when one of her sons becomes a heroin addict. Gerardo Herrero's film shows how an extraordinary woman challenges the system and society to change their views of drug addiction.

What can the Cuban girl Olga do when she discovers she is an illegal immigrant after arriving in Spain on scholarship? Pedro Perez Rosado's dramatic feature shows the difficulties facing women on the fringes of society.   
 
Vida y color (Life in Colour) - May 7, 19:00
 
Set in a small village in 1975, 14-year-old Fede arrives home to news that Franco has died. He is greeted by his grandfather with champagne. The film is a story of initiation, the fear and intoxication of one's first adventures, fairies, bugbears and secrets.
 
Sud Express (Southern Express) - May 7, 21:00
 
The characters created by Chema de la Pena and Gabriel Velázquez, who both wrote and directed the film, are travelling on the train line from Paris to Lisbon. Six different lives are intertwined during the journey, including those of a racist taxi driver, an emigrant, a disabled person and a petty thief.
 
Malas temporadas (Hard Times) - May 8, 18:45
 
Director Manuel Martín Cuenca sends a political message in his film, set in Madrid, with the person of Ana, who works for a relief organisation which assists political refugees.
 
Los fantasmas de Goya (Goya's Ghosts) - May 8, 21:00
 
Director Milos Forman's grand costume drama is about love, imprisonment and the winds of history. The examination of Goya's life as a painter for the Spanish royal court features Javier Bardem, Natalie Portman and Stellan Skarsgard in the lead roles.
