Strong Man, directed by Henryk Szaro, was thought to have been lost during WWII, but a long forgotten print was discovered in Belgium in 1997 and the film was re-released.
Oda do radosci (Ode to Joy) presents three debut directors - Anna Kazejak-Dawid, Jan Komasa and Maciej Migas - and their attempts to capture the stories of Poles who have left their country to find a better life elsewhere. Co slonko widzialo (What the Sun Saw), directed by Michal Rosa, shows the difficulties of realising even small-scale dreams in Poland. The multi-layer story has an apocalyptic ending.
Jak to sie robi (Step by Step), an unusual documentary directed by Marcel Lozinski will be the final film on the festival programme. The film, which took three and a half years to shoot, shows how anybody can be transformed into a politician. Its message is that demagogues and populism are in no way unique to Poland.
