Kovásznai distanced himself from his peers and often refused to exhibit his work when offered the opportunity. Today, his work is appreciated for the artist?s sincere and open-handed manner.
The show is organised by the Kovásznai Research Workshop. The curator is Brigitta Iványi-Bitter, whose monograph on Kovásznai was published in the spring.
An animated short that revisits a Kovásznai film from 1982 has been showing in Hungarian cinemas since March. The film, entitled Reportrait: Kovásznai 2010, by Igor Lazin and Ferenc Török, pays tribute to Kovásznai?s Reportrait.
