Mrs. Warren's Profession is directed by Péter Valló and stars Dorottya Udvaros. The play centres on the shock of Mrs. Warren's prudish daughter upon discovering her mother's fortune was made running a high-class brothel. Even though the play was written in 1893, "the audience can see it as a very contemporary story," the National Theatre says.
Director Valló says on the theatre's home page that the piece examines "which moral problems result from the division of rich and poor in a country, and how the majority, and the minority, react to this."
Sharing the stage with Udvaros are Vera Sipos, Miklós Benedek, Zoltán Rátóti, Péter Blaskó and Marton Róbert.
New Year's Eve, directed by László Keszég, will be performed on the National Theatre's Hilda Gobbi Stage. The comedy describes the efforts of angels - who enlist the help of bar staff along the way - to bring together the perfect couple.
The cast includes Juli Básti, Judit Csoma, János Kulka, József Szarvas, Frigyes Hollósi, László Sinkó, Piroska Molnár, Mária Varga, Zoltán Schmied and Anna Bognár.
