The festival, to be hosted by the MU Theatre, will feature 8-10 performances every evening starting at 20:00. The festival will conclude with a gala event at the Millenáris Teátrum on January 15.
The festival will feature altogether 75 performances. In addition to Hungarian dancers, applications have arrived from Poland, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Finland, France, Portugal, the Netherlands, Britain, Belgium, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, Indian, the USA and Canada.
The opening evening will feature productions by dancers whose past performances at the festival helped shape their careers. Among them are Andrea Nagy, Rita Góbi, Bea Gold, Anna Réti and Anna Piotrowska. At the gala on the 15th, the festival's best participants will perform and Yvette Bozsik will show her solo piece Hommage á Mary Wigman.
Anna Piotrowska, who heads Warsaw's EFERTE Dance Development Foundation, will lead a three-day workshop during the festival.
The Orkesztika Foundation is dedicated to maintaining, developing and promoting Hungary's hundred-year-old dance tradition.
