The festival will open at 6:30pm on Friday with Children of the Revolution, a comedy about a night the dictator Stalin spent with an Australian woman. It will be followed by a free screening of the drama Romulus, My Father, an award-winning film based on the memoir of the philosopher and writer Raimond Gata.

 
The animated feature The Magic Pudding, about a dessert that never loses it shape, will be shown at 4:30pm on Saturday. Next on the programme will be the 1994 film The Sum of Us with Russell Crowe. 
 
Newsfront, a film about two brothers that climaxes at the 1956 Olympic Games, will show on Friday.
 
Yolngu Boy, The Black Balloon, Gettin' Square and Thank God He Met Lizzie are also in the line-up.
 
Shorts will be screened at 4:30pm on January 31 and at 8:30 pm on February 1.
