The concerts, eleven in all, will be performed without intermissions, and -- with the exception of the opening oratorio - all will be just 45 minutes long. Tickets for all events are HUF 600 apiece, but anyone who buys three tickets receives a fourth one free. Music lovers who would like to attend all the concerts can do so for the price of a standard concert ticket.

Iván Fischer, the marathon's artistic director, has put together a programme that features not only the composer's most popular works but also some rarities, such as the dramatic cantata, The Spectre's Bride, which will have its Hungarian premi?re, lesser known songs and choral works, as well as the four-hand piano transcription of Legends. The marathon will be rounded off with an exhibition dedicated to the great composer's life.
