Parno Graszt to Play Corvintető

English

Parno Graszt has remained true to their roots, collecting and performing Gypsy music from the area around the village of Paszab, in northeast Hungary, where the band's members grew up.

Parno Graszt's 2002 recording Hit The Piano, made it to the seventh spot on World Music Charts Europe, and Switzerland's Vibrations Magazine put them among the ten best artists of the year in 2005.

The BBC has filmed a documentary about their efforts to preserve Romani culture.

Last year, the band travelled to Rajasthan, India, the supposed birthplace of the Roma people, to do research and play with local musicians.
