The first Pécs International Dance Festival will take place on September
26?29. It will kick off with a performance by the Moscow Contemporary Ballet. The dancer and choreographer József Nagy, well known in dance circles, will also contribute.
The festival?s chief organiser is Pécs Ballet director Balázs Vincze, and its host is the choreographer, dancer and producer Péter Novák. It is supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the City of Pécs.
By 2010, the festival?s organisers hope the event will include all dance genres and performers from countries all over Europe as well as from Hungary?s most important dance ensembles. There are also plans to include workshops, conferences and concerts on the festival programme.
