The funding will be used to create a multi-functional cultural and community centre in Kaposvár, and renovate the City Library and Turkish House in Szigetvár. Szekszárd will get a cultural centre, while Komló will refurbish its community centre and theatre. Marcali will expand its Community History Museum, and Siklós will establish a regional library and knowledge centre. Sellye will get a new community centre, Mohács will move its Kanizsai Dorottya Museum into a new building, and the Dombóvár Learning Centre will be renovated.
The buildings will serve as venues for more than 50 European Capital of Culture events in 2010.
