The concert, to kick of the 2nd Pécs International Film Festival, will take place in the city?s Széchenyi Square at 17:00 on Monday. Admission will be free of charge.
The animation to accompany the orchestra was created by Géza M. Tóth, a maker of animated films and a professor at the Hungarian University of Applied Arts.
The concert fits well with the orchestra?s theme for this year?s season: literature and music.
Also on the programme will be Ravel?s Bolero, Gershwin?s An American in Paris, Grofé?s Grand Canyon Suite and Bartók?s Miraculous Mandarin. The Harry Potter soundtracks were written by John Williams.
The second Pécs International Film Festival will be held on October 2?7. It will include more than 40 films on its programme, many of them from young directors in new EU member states.
