The play takes place in a railway carriage stranded in a tunnel after leaving Kosice, the city in present-day Slovakia where Márai was born. Its characters speak both Hungarian and Slovakian, as was common in the region when Márai lived.
Supertitles will be shown in both languages.
The play is the creation of director Silvester Lavrík and Slovak blogger Anna Vlcková-Strachan, said dramaturge Margit Garajszki.
It is called On the Care of a Middle Class Dog, the title of a book that survived the bombing of Márai?s flat in WWII, a title that later made its way into Márai?s writing.
On the Care of a Middle Class Dog premiered in Kosice last December.
