The festival's budget is likely to be bigger next year, said Jordán, following a visit to the city by Minister of Education and Culture István Hiller. With the necessary funding, the festival could invite two centre-stage foreign productions and two chamber theatre foreign productions as well as ten smaller productions. Talks with foreign theatre companies are already underway, he said.

The foreign productions would tie in with Pécs's European Capital of Culture programme from 2010, Jordán added.

POSZT's managing director István Simon argues that Hungary needs an international theatre festival, regardless of the foreign productions included on POSZT's programme.
