(MTI) - Heading a Hungarian delegation at the meeting for the council of ministers in charge of education, youth, culture and sport, Geza Szocs presented details of the planned Hungarian National Digital Archives.
"We consider long-term preservation of digitised and digital cultural assets an outstandingly important task. We must make progress in this area and learn from good European examples," Szocs told the meeting, according to the statement by the ministry. Long-term preservation will be among the main subjects of a conference on digitising the cultural heritage to be held during the Hungarian EU presidency, he added.
Hungary will set up the Hungarian National Digital Archives (MaNDA) within the next few months, in keeping with the Digital Agenda for Europe, said Szocs.
